In 2024, Miftahul joined Preferred by Nature as our Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Intern.
Preferred by Nature provides an invaluable platform for me to translate my passion for environmental preservation into tangible actions. Through my academic journey in sustainable forestry, I’ve gained a deep understanding of the intricate balance between humanity and nature. My dedication to protecting our environment stems from an innate appreciation for nature’s gifts and a strong belief in our responsibility to safeguard it for future generations.
In the role of GIS intern, Miftahul actively engages in gathering essential environmental data, encompassing maps, satellite images, and field surveys for Preferred by Nature.
Conducting in-depth spatial analyses on high conservation value ecosystems, Miftahul collaborates closely with project teams, presenting findings and supporting field assessments. This role involves contributing valuable insights to improve landscape analysis methodologies, ensuring the organisation's commitment to environmental conservation and sustainability is met with precision and effectiveness.
