Project objective
Ensure high conservation values found in North Korveema Military and Conservation Area, Estonia's third largest conservation area.
A number of rare or endangered species exist in the ara, including the Wolf, Lynx, Brown Bear, Black Stork, Golden Eagle, Capercaillie, several orchids and the endemic plant species Oxytropis sordida.
Project approach
The project mapped high conservation values found within the area. Special consideration was given to sustainable forestry, protection of rare and endangered species, visitor facilities and unique landscapes.
Results and impact
The project prepared a conservation plan for the area. The project was supported by Harju County in Estonia in coooperation with Aarhus County in Denmark.
