Extensive use of wood cellulose for car tyres opens up a whole new and significant business area for forest operations.
If the plans to commercialize the concept is successful, preference for certified wood would seem an obvious choice for the car industry, which is undergoing a necessary greening process. Volvo Cars already made a commitment last year, when the company decided to have all of its car manuals FSC-certified.
