NEPCon is co-launching a new project which aims to empower local NGOs to promote sustainable development in Belarus. The project has special focus on the role of NGOs in promoting credible eco-labelling schemes.
The project includes NGO cross-border networking activities, a national awareness raising campaign in Belarus, and development of a strategy for the promotion of eco-labelling and certification of environmentally friendly production.
NEPCon will assist in preparing the draft strategy, which will include proposed steps to encourage active consumer choice of eco-friendly products, and to convince industries to develop such products in Belarus.
The project is jointly developed and implemented by the Lithuanian NGO Environmental Information Center (leading partner), the Belarusian NGO ASDEMO, the Swedish Society for Nature Conservation and NEPCon.
